IV.25: Other yogis undertake sacrifice to gods alone. Others offer the Self, as a sacrifice by the Self itself, in the fire of Brahman

IV.26: Others offer the organs, viz. ear etc., in the fires of self-control. Others offer the objects viz. sound etc., in the fires of the organs.

IV.27: Others offer all the activties of the organs and the activities of the vital force into the fire of the yoga of self-control which has been lighted by Knowledge.

IV.28: Similarly, others are performers of sacrifices through wealth, through austerity, through yoga, and through study and knowlede; others are ascetics with severe vows.

Summary of this lecture:

After emphasizing that climbing on the ladder of sacrifice, the spiritual aspirant ultimately progresses to the consciousness that everything that is experienced is Brahman - the One all-pervading reality, that transcends all and is immanent in all, Lord now tells that this principle of sacrifice is practiced in a variety of ways, depending upon the station, constitution, surroundings etc of the person. He gives the examples where control is fire and senses are the oblation, meaning that the unrestrained movements of the senses are controlled in this sacrifice. At another level, the sense-objects are poured into the senses as sacrifice. Seeing, hearing, touching, walking, working - all gets undertaken not for enjoyment but as sacrifice or worship. Similarly, even the breathing is to be looked upon as sacrifice. All physical and mental activity is to be connected with the march towards the highest goal.
